Execution of Aquashow Indoor Park

Aquashow Park is the biggest water park in Portugal, with slides, swimming pool, wave pool, water roller coaster, shows and many other amusements.  The client bets on constant innovation and implementation of solutions that contribute to its positioning as a reference in the sector
 

Project:

Located in the Algarve, in Quarteira, the Aquashow indoor park is the first indoor water park in Portugal. The project included the creation of an indoor amusement park that will be open year-round, significantly contributing to reducing seasonality in the Algarve. It features distinct spaces in a unique environment, offering a variety of experiences to its visitors. Aquashow chose Rolear.ON for the execution of this project due to its integrated solutions, which range from civil construction to special technical installations, maintenance, and technical assistance. 

 

The Project:

Building Construction

- Peripheral containment using anchored walls

- Metal structure and reinforced concrete structure

- Exterior coating of exterior walls in sandwich panel and sheet metal

- Coating of exterior walls from the interior and interior walls in fiberglass-reinforced gypsum panels

FROM THE PROJECT TO THE COMPLETED WORK

 

Meeting the requirements, the Aquashow Indoor Park project features thematic pools with over 1,000 m² of water surfaces. The total volume of heated water is 1,200 m³, and the electrical power used for its circulation is 500 kW.

Five slides were also installed, one of which is large-scale, originating from the highest point of the building, a tower approximately 26 meters high, which extends outside the building and ends in a cone with a diameter of 16 meters, providing access to the interior of Floor 1. The remaining four slides originate from the same tower, are located inside the building, and also end on Floor 1.

The project lasted 600 days, with approximately 70 workers involved each day.

Tornado

A large slide that begins at the highest point of the building, a 26-meter tall tower, featuring a raft capable of holding up to 4 people. At the end of the ride, visitors enter a giant cone with a diameter of 16 meters, experiencing a sensation of free fall. Visitors can also select the music and lighting that accompany them on this journey.

Main Hydrotherapy and SPA Pool for Adults

In a separate area, there is an adults-only SPA that offers a space for relaxation and tranquility, set in an exotic natural environment. This SPA features a pool equipped with an air jacuzzi, water jacuzzi, bubble zone, water jets, waterfalls, bubble beds, and side jets. In this space, visitors can also find a Hammam, Turkish bath, sauna, cold plunge, treatment showers, essence pool, contrast walk, and massage rooms.

Pool and Adventure Circuit

Designed for a young audience aged 12 and above, this circuit features three distinct areas: one area with horizontal climbing, a passage through the pool with rings, and another passage to cross on a net, all amidst the choppy waters of a wave pool. The second area includes three water cannons and two slides.
